    🏫 About the Role

    We are seeking a dependable and hardworking School Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role includes both interior cleaning and exterior upkeep, contributing to the overall appearance and safety of the school grounds year-round.

    🛠️ Key Responsibilities

    Interior Maintenance

    • Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas

    • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces

    • Empty trash and recycling bins regularly

    • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper

    • Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures)

    • Set up and take down furniture for school events and activities

    • Report safety hazards or needed repairs to the maintenance supervisor

    • Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored

    • Follow all school policies and safety procedures

    Exterior Maintenance

    • Shovel snow and apply ice melt to walkways, entrances, and steps during winter months

    • Mow lawns, trim hedges, and maintain landscaping during warmer seasons

    • Sweep sidewalks and remove debris from outdoor areas

    • Maintain cleanliness of school entrances, parking lots, and playgrounds

    • Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal and storm cleanup

    ✅ Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    • Previous custodial or groundskeeping experience is an asset

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods

    • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices

    • Familiarity with lawn care equipment and snow removal tools

    • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Must pass a background check
