Dear Parents,

The Third Quarter is almost completed and we are enjoying the spring weather. Here are a few things to take note of for this month.

Our students are looking forward to our Third Quarter Awards that will be held on Sunday, April 14th at 6:00 p.m. Please join us to celebrate our students’ hard work and accomplishments. Just a reminder, the students need to be in “chapel dress” for the awards. This is a great time to invite friends and family to see the good things that go on here. After the awards, we will be having some refreshments in the Learning Centre where our students’ work will be displayed for your enjoyment. Please take time to view it and encourage their creativity and hard work.

The students ages 8-18 are preparing for the Student Regional Convention. This is the focus in many of our classes and breaks. Though the students are preparing in school, much preparation has to be done at home too. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office. More details about their trips will be given early next week.

We are hosting our very first “Student Showcase”. This fund-raising event with “showcase” all of the students who are going to Student Regional Convention. The students will be sharing the gifts and talents that God has given them in poetry recitation, expressive reading, singing, and much, much, more. Also. their art featuring photography, sketching, and clay sculpture will be on display. There is a $5.00 cash or e-transfer admission fee as well as a silent auction to help our Jr./Sr. High students go to Warrensburg, MO to compete in the ACE International Student Convention. There will also be refreshments provided after the program. Please invite people for a night of entertainment and show support to our students.

Children seem to grow as spring arrives so many of the students need new (larger) gym uniforms. Please ensure that your child has a gym uniform that is long enough to cover their bellies and their ankles when stretching as well as one that is free from holes and stains. If you require new uniforms, please contact the school office. Those students competing in athletics at Student Regionals will especially need a neat, presentable gym uniform.

We are now accepting applications for Kindergarten through grade 12 for the next school year. It is important to have our children in a school that will protect our children and not compromise the Word of God. It has been our experience that “Word of Mouth” is our best advertising tool. If you know anyone that has a child entering Kindergarten in the fall or who may be interested in having their child a part of what God is doing in and through Lakeland Christian Academy, please have them call (780) 639-2077 to get more information and book an interview. We also have flyers available to hand out and our website is always a good resource for those inquiring about our school.

Re-registration forms will be emailed next week. Please fill them out and return them to us by May 11. This will help us to budget for the coming school year.

We have a great group of students and believe for God’s best for each of them. If you have any questions, please feel free to call.

God Bless,
