December 21, 2020

Dear Parents,

Christmas is at our doorsteps. I trust all of you are in the midst of all the last minute details that come with the celebration of Jesus’ birth: baking, wrapping gifts, shopping, etc.

As we have now approaching the middle of the school year, it is a good time to do some shopping to top up your children’s school supplies. Students are often without pencils, erasers, and tissues these days. Please check to ensure they have everything they need to complete the year successfully.

As per Alberta Education direction, all students will be schooling at home from January 4 to January 7. I have set goals in the grade 1-6 student agendas for these days. For those students in Junior and Senior High, I have given them how much work that they need to accomplish on a “sticky note”, as they are well able to set their own goals. I have sent Score Keys home as well. Please keep these secured as we don’t want to tempt our students to use them incorrectly. We will be scheduling “Zoom” sessions with the students during that week as needed. The staff will be in school from 9:00 to 3:00, Monday through Thursday during this time to assist you in any way that we can via Zoom, email, text, or phone call.

Our Second Quarter is coming to an end on January 28th. Please encourage your child to complete the school work and Scriptures that are listed on their “Honor Roll” slip to fulfill their second quarter's work. Second Quarter Awards are scheduled on Sunday, January 31, at 6:00 p.m. We will keep you advised on how we will celebrate our students’ success keeping up with the latest “Covid” protocol in the new year.

Check out the calendar on our website for an up to date posting of things that are taking place in January. Please note that we are still planning to skate for gym every Thursday in January. Your children will need skates and a helmet that fits properly, with a chin strap, for safety if they fall. Please ensure also that your children’s skates are freshly sharpened, as it is much easier to skate on sharp blades. We will let you know the details about where we will be skating in the new year. We are skating from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and praying God’s very best for you and your family in the coming year.

God Bless,
